New Whip

I forgot to mention the Easter Bunny was also good to Regan. Instead of doing a basket this year I decided she needed something we’d get more use out of.

Wiiiiiiiiii!!!!!!!

My good friends at Nintendo decided to play Easter Bunny this year!  I was thrilled to receive not only a Wii, but a Wii Fit Plus!  They even included an awesome sport bag, yoga mat, water bottle and headband.

The timing of this gift couldn’t have been better.  I have really been thinking about doing some at home workouts.  Notice I said “thinking” cause I really hadn’t made any moves to do so.  In fact, the only moves I was doing was rolling my big butt into the kitchen for more chipsicecreamwinelemonadefishsticks.

Setting up my system was easy and I loved how small and sleek the Wii was.  I worked out both Saturday and Sunday and today I can’t believe it but I am actually sore.  Yesterday at brunch I noticed how sore my biceps were.  It didn’t seem like I did that much, but clearly it was enough to tax my muscles.

I love the variety of workout options available on the Wii Fit Plus.  So far I have tried Yoga, Step Aerobics, Boxing, Kung Fu, Hula Hoops and a couple of balance games.  It’s so cool!

Last night before I went to bed, I set up my balance board so I could get up this morning at 5am and workout.  Unfortunately, my brain did not follow my heart and I slept right through until 7am.  So today when I get home I will get my workout on.  I can’t wait to do boxing again.  And I think I’ll do some strength training too!

Necessary Legalities:  Although I was provided a Wii and Wii Fit Plus, I was not encouraged to write about either product.  The opinions expressed in this post are my own.

The Hunt, Part 2

The neighbors and I had a little egg hunt this evening for the girls.  Once again, we “hid” the eggs in plain sight in the middle of the grass.  You can’t imagine how long it took them to find them.

The Hunt

Today was baby’s first Easter Egg Hunt!

The eggs were “hidden” in the playground.  It was hysterical watching the kids chase after eggs sitting in plain sight.  And once the kids figured out there were treats inside it was on and poppin.  They all began gnawing on starbursts (paper included).  We quickly took them away and of course crying ensued.  So I hopped (pun) over to the drug store and bought some cookies so they could all have an Easter treat.

Frohawk

I woke up this morning and my hair still had definition and wasn’t that frizzy, so I decided to fashion a frohawk instead of my usual wash-n-go routine.  I wore these last fall, but I am loving how it looks now that my hair has grown out a little more.  Plus, I’m feeling all “Legend of Billie Jean” due to some shenanigans with the misfits yesterday.  This ‘do totally speaks to my mood.

Weekend Randoms

I was really put off by the fact that I didn’t win the jackpot this weekend.  Like, really put off.  I couldn’t believe I had to get up and go to work this morning.  I was totally not mentally prepared for it.  I assumed I would be at the lottery office signing papers and sh!t.

_____

I returned the ottoman.

_____

I have decided that when my nook dies (and you know it will) I am getting a Kindle Fire.  Why, you may be wondering?  Because I have somehow gone and become obsessed with Angry Birds.  I downloaded it out of boredom and now I can’t quit playing.  But I need a bigger screen to get my angles right!

_____

Dad et. al were in town this weekend.  I really enjoyed having them and love that I can accomodate multiple people comfortably, but boy I was ready for them to leave.  I love my solitude.

_____

Family pics were taken.  I hated how I looked and Regan acted quite the fool the entire time.  She did manage to give me one money shot and it might actually be the best photo of her EVER.  Here is a pic of us leaving the house (that’s not what she wore in the pics):

_____

We went to lunch after pics and she slept on me the entire time.

_____

We spent a lot of time outside this weekend.  I walked away with one mosquito bite and Regan had a few scratches, but we had a lot of fun.  I love being outside!

_____

I found a turtle in the street.  My daddy wouldn’t let me keep it.  *sad face*

I named him Teddy.  I would have given him a happy home.

Randomly Speaking

The community service event I have been working on for two months was today.  My twittascope told me it was not going to go as planned, but that I would still have fun.  It was right.  I had 50 volunteers show up.  We worked our asses off.  We prepared lunch, painted, helped with resumes and software classes, organized, gave manicures and even had two hair stylists doing hair.  It was such a blessing to make an immediate impact in these women’s lives.

_____

I saw Hunger Games over the weekend (thanks to the generousity of DiscoDiva offering to babysit).  I enjoyed it.  Now that a few days have passed and I have talked to other people about it I want to see it again.  I’ll wait for DVD, but I think I want to take it all in again and see what I missed.

_____

Mad Men is back on the air and I am thrilled.  It was a long 17 months, but I feel like I am right back in the swing again.  When Roger said “are there lot of negroes in the lobby or is it just me?” I HOWLED.  And Don Draper handling his business on the living room floor?  Yes, please and THANK YOU!

_____

The compliments I am getting on my hair are out of control.  I was out the other day and a women damn near broke her neck trying to get to me to ask how I got it to look like it does.  I am ready for the summer heat and humidity to make my hair SWELL.  I have something very specific about my hair on my vision board and it is really coming to fruition.  The universe is listening!

______

The universe continues to ignore my requests for true love and large stacks of cash.

Bonus Weekend with my Girl

Regan and I had a positively splendid weekend.  She was in a fabulous mood, the weather was perfect and I had cute hair.  We had breakfast together, we played outside and we I cleaned.  We went furniture shopping, visited Keyalus and even did brunch with friends.  Oh, and there were plenty of strawberries!  And even though she still won’t go to sleep by herself, I enjoyed every single minute with her.

Here are a few snaps from the weekend.
